סיפור חיים
Joseph (Chaim Yaakov) Weltman, was one of 11 children born to his parents, Moshe z"l and Charna Hy"d in the Hungarian hamlet of Szaraz-Kek where his parents owned a pub and inn.

Following his jewish studies in Cheder and Yeshiva, Joe apprenticed as a miller and worked at several flour-mills in different districts of Hungary.

He was enlisted in the Hyngarian army's forced labour battalions and survived extremely difficult condition which had taken him as far as Russia.

Following liberation, Joe returned to Hungary where he married his wife, Edith, on March 31,1945 at Szikszo (Edith's birth place)

Joe and Edith lived at Bad-Reichenhal DP car until they moved to Stockholm to join Joe's siblings Ilona Zilzer and Gus Weltman.
From Sweden, Joe and Edith moved to Toronto where they had two children - Shirley and Harvey and where they were pillars of the community of the Viewmount Synagogue.
