אודות הקהילה
"Blumengartenschule Jacob Brand" was opened 4. 5. 1946 and closed in 1948. See the picture with the flag(M37). There is another picture (M40) with the Chief = "Landrat" of the Region Erding, he spoke on this event. It seems, that a big part of the people went quickly  to Israel after the foundation.
The Kibbuz (there are papers which speek of "kibbuz") was founded by the zionistic BEITAR-group. Perhaps the idea was born in Poland or in Berlin. It seems, first inhabitants were sent as a group to Dorfen.
Between 50 and 70 men and women were living in this hachschara. In 1947, new people from Romania and Hungary came to Blumengartenschule.
Perhaps, "Jacob Brand" was a zionistic leader, but we dont know more about this person.
"Blumengartenschule" means a little more than agriculture center, but we didn't find any evidence of flowers anywhere. A farmer who lived near the "Bachmayer-Farm" - this agricultural land of where you have pictures with your working parents - told us, that he saw one early morning a military training  on the farm.   The owner of the "Villa Meindl" had a great brickyard in Dorfen (still existing, but now in the hands of a british company), and was an elderman during the Nazi-time. The american military confiscated the "Villa Meindl" in the first day after the liberation in order to stay in Dorfen, but used the house only for a short time.   If there was another DP-camp? There is one list from 1946 with two DP-camps in Dorfen: one is the Blumengartenschule, the other in the house "Villa Bauer" where now the signatures of two men were found. But we have only these  two names, and on another list there is one family in this other house named "villa Bauer".
I am quite sure!!, there were only a few unorganized jewish people like so many in Dorfen (ca 300 persons)
